On 22nd June 2021, we at Fitness Marketing Agency attended a virtual ceremony for the Performance Marketing Awards and we’re extremely pleased to be able to announce that we WON the Best Lead Generation Campaign category!
We faced tough competition from 6 other marketing agencies who teamed up with big brands such as The North Face and Audi and emerging as award winners was an extremely momentous occasion for us.

We were nominated for this award for our work with Elite: Together, a group of studios based in the North of England who offer exercise programmes aimed at real people, with an emphasis on teaching basic movements and creating healthy habits that are easy to maintain.

Elite: Together joined us at the start of the first lockdown in 2020, when founder Paul Alexander was searching for a strategy to adapt his business and keep growing his client base despite the pandemic. We flipped the situation to focus on what the market wanted: To be fitter, feel healthier and be in better shape mentally and physically to fight Covid-19. Customers didn’t want to cancel memberships, they wanted help to train online

Within 3 months FMA had helped Elite: Together generate enough new sales for a 3190% Return on Investment across their 5 independent gyms in Newcastle, Leeds, Cramlington, Stockton and Durham, and relaunch post lockdown with a bang!

The Performance Marketing Awards judges described the campaign as:

A hyper-local, ethical campaign, with a focus on empowering people and helping small businesses survive what has been an extremely difficult year for everyone”.

Although we weren’t able to attend a physical event, the transition to virtual was extremely smooth and we enjoyed an evening of networking. We only wished we had made more of an effort with our outfits so we looked the part for our acceptance speech!

This is what founder of Fitness Marketing Agency Ben Davis had to say in response to the win:

“When the pandemic struck, the fitness industry was hit hard and throughout multiple lockdowns, gyms have opened and closed in line with government guidelines. This has had a massive effect on many independent gyms, forcing them out of business or leaving them struggling to get by. Paul of Elite: Together was savvy and sought us out to provide expert guidance on the best way to help his 5 physical locations innovate and continue to thrive. It’s been a real pleasure working with Elite: Together and they are changing many people’s lives for the better. It’s rewarding to know that our marketing is having an effect on Elite: Togethers business and on improving the lives of real people. Back in 2020, I flew to Newcastle to go and meet with Paul personally, and below is what he had to say about the whole experience of working with FMA”
